On Geraldine's birthday (actual day), we decided to go out for dinner at Kashmir, an Indian restaurant. King of Bastards turned up, much to our surprise, cause nobody invited him, and the whole night, he made an asshole out of himself. Firstly, throughout the entire dinner, if he wasn't playing with his phone, he was sleeping. Then, when Geraldine told him her grandmother had a stroke, he asked her how old her granny was, and when she replied "78", he said, "Oh, it's about time". WTF??? Already majorly pissed off at that, then when we went to Java for dessert, he slept. THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. He didn't talked to anyone at all. And then he kept making excuses after that, saying that he was very tired cause he didn't sleep the whole of last night. TIRED THEN DON'T COME LAH! NOBODY INVITED YOUR ASS ANYWAY WHAT! Grrr.

On Saturday, I took a trip up to Dublin with Chris and Sarah on Saturday for the SMSI's CNY dinner (Geraldine took a later bus, we took the early morning one). We reached Dublin in time for lunch, where we ate at Elephant and Castle, a cafe on Temple Bar which is famous for their buffalo wings. We had that, and I had a steak sandwich.

The wings were yummy, really addictive. The steak sandwich was good, but the steak was abit too hard for my liking. I think it's cause I ordered medium-well, but the waitress probably heard "well" only cause that was how my steak came out. Pricey place though! Or at least to me haha.

We spent the day shopping. My iPhone stopped working last week so I had to tag alongside Sarah. The sales in Dublin weren't great- alot of stocks got wiped out already. Still, I managed to get 2 plain, basic cardigans in black and grey from F21 (2 for 12 euros), a shimmery, silver top from Pull&Bear (9.99 euros) and a country dress from F21 (7.99 euros). Not a bad haul, actually. Sarah and I stopped for an afternoon tea of Nutella-Banana-Chocolate (failproof crepe combo) crepe from Maud's. We met Geraldine after that and went to Imperial Chinese Restaurant for dinner. The food was not bad. Met up with SW and the rest of the Dublin people. I made chocolate cornflake clusters, thumbprint cookies with a blackcurrant jam center and brownies for SW and gang, and passed it to her at the dinner. We rushed for the 10.45pm bus back to Galway. I was so, so tired when I reached home, I could barely climbed the stairs into the house.

I spent Sunday morning skyping my parents, then popped over to Dunnes for some stuffs for CNY baking to give to King of Bastards because he was hosting Tuan Yuan Fan that night. Made chocolate cornflake clusters, brownies and sponge cake for them. Baked till 7pm (when dinner was supposed to start at 7pm) and so I reached late, around 7.30pm. And KoB had a SUPER BLACK face, which Geraldine said was cause we were late. Wtf?! We ate and played Wii till almost three, then we cabbed back. And after dinner, KoB slept on the sofa. Snored like the pig he is.

I'm officially 21 today. TWENTY ONE. TWO ONE. I feel old.

We had a birthday dinner on Saturday night to celebrate mine and Geraldine's birthday. I originally planned to make a chocolate biscuit cake for Geraldine's birthday cake, but then I woke up in the morning to a facebook PM from S (Geraldine's boyfriend) who told me to get a particular type of cake for her birthday and say it's from him. And because I knew that that cake DEFINITELY could not be found in Galway, I decided to make it instead. I had already bought the ingredients for the chocolate biscuit cake but not the ingredients for S's cake so I went out to get it. AND GERALDINE ASKED ME WHERE I WAS GOING -.- Suay max. I was hoping she wouldn't be awake because it was 9 in the morning. I had to lie that I forgot to buy some ingredient for her choc biccie cake. So I went out to get it, came back home and made it. AND the chocolate biccie cake (pic below). Big baking day haha!

We made mee sua (as we did last year). We ate, played some card game, drank (I only had cranberry and vodka). We cut Geraldine's cake(s) first, then waited until midnight to cut mine. Due to my inability to eat my own baking, they bought me a chocolate fudge cake from Morton's of Galway. How we knew of that shop is a pretty funny story. We were camping at the CSI cafe one afternoon, waiting for them to give out free leftover food from that day, and these group of women came and sat next to us with a box from Morton's and took out this absolutely sinful and delicious-looking chocolate fudge cake and started eating it. We were practically salivating over the cake. Everyone kept glancing over and looking at the cake, and we actually wanted to ask them for a slice haha. Luckily the free food of the day came out just then.

Anyway- and this is rather embarrassing- I wanted a group photo. To remember the night. And the guys refused to pose for a nice one. I begged them to just take ONE nice shot, and we can do stupid stuffs on the rest, but that CR (King of Bastards) got all of them to pretend to yawn whilst the photo was being taken. And so when I went to look at the picture on the camera and saw their pose, I put the camera away, sat down, and started CRYING. Like I just couldn't stop myself, and the tears just started trickling down my face. Everyone was looking at me kinda awkward, and Geraldine came over and hugged me and kept telling me, "I know it's cause of the photo, but just ignore them", and I kept replying, "Nono it's not cause of the photo, I'm fine". I just kept crying and crying, all throughout the birthday song, blowing of the candles, and cutting of the cake. I kept trying to stop myself, but I think because I was particularly emotional that day (quarter-life crisis really hit me), and the fact that the guys did a BORED pose on my birthday group photo tilted me over the edge.

On hindsight, I think the pose had an impact on my behaviour that night too. If they had made a monkey face, I would have brushed it off as childish, stupid. But they made a YAWNING pose, a show of BOREDOM. It was my birthday party (and technically Geraldine's as well), and they were BORED. I was fucking hurt at that insinuation.

On my birthday, I woke up and went to church, then came home and skyped my parents the whole afternoon. And then, around 6pm, Kok Cher and Aslam came with a plateful of profiteroles with fudge sauce and ice cream. They came to apologise, and said that they felt bad for last night, and that they hoped their little dessert would make up for their behaviour last night. I was super touched. I really appreciate gestures like that. Apparently they already decided to do this last night. No input from the other two though, CR's housemates.

The rest of the night, I spent reading TDCJ's offender's orientation handbook so I could get an idea on what Junior's life is like in prison.

And that was how I turned 21!
