ME

<♥>

Hello, my name is Mylene.

Screams

Saturday, July 09, 2011
I'm halfway through my summer holidays and I can honestly say that I've accomplished nothing much at all. It's amazing how time flies when you are doing nothing at all. My brain's happily rotting, and my father grew so concerned over my state of inactivity (both physically AND mentally) that he asked me if I can still study when I go back to Ireland. Er hello Daddy, I spent 9 months last year rotting at home and yet I still managed to survive one year of med school, I think I should be fine lah.

And speaking of med school, Year Two looms ahead in 2 months time. I can't believe it- I'm 1/5 on my way to becoming a doctor! And there I was all those years, dreaming about becoming a doctor, wondering if I can scrape the grades to enter med school.

I don't want to become just another run-of-the-mill doctor. I hope that I will never become sick of my job, that I will continue to love being a doctor. So many times I've seen doctors in the public hospitals during my attachments there moaning and complaining about their professional lives and urging people to NOT join the medical profession. Who's to say I won't become like that in the future? But I sincerely hope I will NEVER become like that, that I will continuously be enthusiastic and passionate about what I do.

If I love what I do, I'll never have to work a day in my life.
