GERMANY WON!!!:DDD My brother and I were literally screaming in front of the laptop everytime they scored. We had to make do with some random Spanish channel which nobody watches and therefore we could get uninterrupted streaming. Germany was awesome and Michael Ballack looked so proud and happy and as handsome as ever:) And though I don't like to admit this, it's true that Germany's playing tactics are different and for the better now that Ballack's injured and unable to play, because he is really defensive-minded and wouldn't have approved of the fast-paced and quick-attacking game-playing tactics that Germany is employing now.

On the other hand, I'm quite pissed off at some people who have taken it into their responsibility to update people every 5 minutes on how the games was progressing, and actually dissing Argentina like they know shit about football. What was worse was that these people are those fans (if you can call them that) who support whichever football team is winning. So you get them saying how good Portugal is and dissing those teams that Portugal beat, then when Portugal lost to Spain they went on about how Spain is good and their new favourite and started dissing Portugal. Some freakin' loyalty you have. Alright, I understand that there are some people who have no favourites and just watch neutrally, but these persons above that I'm referring to are definitely NOT neutral watchers. They are just a bunch of idiots who jump on whatever bandwagon that seems to be winning the race.

That said, Argentina did NOT play a lousy game. They may have relied too heavily on the golden 3 strikers and completely left their defence open, a costly mistake which Germany exploited, but they put up a good fight. Argentina came through after a difficult qualifyiing campaign in which the whole world doubted that Maradona could even get the team in the final 32, and then when they started winning everyone was like, "Argentina is our new favourites to win the World Cup!" and now they lost to Germany and Germany suddenly becomes the "new favourites" and Maradona's being slammed suddenly. Why so double-faced?! For me, I applaud how Maradona instilled that sense of team-building into his team, how he made them play for the love and fun of the Beautiful Game. Granted that Argentina has their own faults too (terrible tempers, Maradona being too loud and proud), they however do NOT deserve all the shit people have been giving them.

In case people don't know, I'm an Alemaniac; been one since 2002. Argentina is my second favourite, and though yesterday's match was one I only hope to see in a semi-final or final, I was very happy that Germany won. The past 2 times they came very close to winning the World Cup, and in 2006 when they lost to Italy 0-2 in the semi-finals, I didn't watch the final because they weren't playing in it. So I'm really hoping they will win this time around, albeit without Ballack. That doesn't mean that I'm not sad that Argentina lost- I really wanted Maradona to succeed when the whole world was looking down on him. So I hope that he gets to stay on as Argentina's coach. He has achieved much more than what many have thought was possible.
